Improving the Madison County Fairgrounds!

Creating a legacy requires planning, investment, and community support. Join us in preserving one of our area's oldest traditions!

While public funding supports essential operations at the Madison County Fairgrounds, it doesn't always cover major improvements, equipment, or long-range projects that keep pace with current use of the grounds. The Madison County Fairgrounds Improvement Foundation raises private support for these efforts and partners with fairgrounds leadership and county officials to ensure projects are thoughtfully planned and built to last.

GROWTH BRINGS RESPONSIBILITY

Over the past 14 years, Madison County’s population has grown by 27%, with an expected annual increase of 2–3%. As our county grows, so does the responsibility to care for shared spaces that support safety, education, agriculture, and community life.

Each year, the Madison County Fairgrounds welcomes more than 100,000 visitors!

From longtime locals and travelers passing through, the Fairgrounds offer a place to gather, learn, and experience Madison County’s traditions firsthand.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE

Home to the Madison County Fair & Rodeo and local 4-H and FFA programs, the Fairgrounds welcome thousands each year while generating more than $500,000 annually through the youth Market Livestock Sales—supporting education, agriculture, and lasting community impact.

BUILDING CAPACITY FOR YEAR-ROUND USE
The Foundation has launched an initiative to secure financial support for several critical building and infrastructure projects at the fairgrounds. The new multi-purpose event center is a major step for the fairgrounds—creating a dependable indoor venue that expands opportunities year-round. This project supports youth programming, community use, and the fairgrounds’ ability to generate reliable rental income. We are actively raising funds to bring this project to life.

PHASE 1
PAVILION IMPROVEMENT / RENOVATION
Built in 1936, the historic log building has been restored to its original luster and upgraded with a new restroom, utility kitchen, and insulation to support all-season use. These projects ensure it is sound for generations to come. Visit our completed projects tab to see some of the updates!

PHASE 2
MULTI-PURPOSE EVENTS CENTER
A new addition to the fairgrounds, this space is designed to host large-capacity events and youth programs, including 4-H and FFA, livestock shows and sales, educational workshops, and community gatherings. The new Events Center will accommodate activities year-round.
