About the Foundation

The Madison County Fairgrounds Improvement Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to preserve, promote and support the Madison County Fairgrounds through grants, donations, fundraising and planned giving.

Our aim is to continue the legacy of agriculture, recreation, education and community gatherings by providing funding for the Madison County Fairgrounds.

The Madison County Fairgrounds is located on the west bank of the Beaverhead River in rural Southwestern Montana. The original Fairgrounds was once a part of the Lott and Seidensticker homesteads, and in 1887 the grounds were referred to as “The Park”. Today the grounds encompass 47 acres, and are surrounded by pristine farmlands with easy access to Montana Highway 41. The Fairgrounds are owned by Madison County and are within the corporate limits of the town of Twin Bridges. A volunteer board of Directors oversees all business and operations, and a Fairgrounds Manager is responsible to manage daily activities and reports to the County Commissioners.

Each year our Fairgrounds attracts a large variety of private, community, state, and regional events bringing approximately 75,000 - 100,000 visitors to Madison County. Every August, the annual Madison County Fair attracts approximately 5,000 - 7,000 guests, making it the largest community event in the county. The fair is the economic engine generating additional non-tax revenue for the operation of the Fairgrounds.
